Target fixation and a close call clip

Following up on a vid I posted yesterday about motorcycle safety. Talking about target fixation. I had a close call this morning where NOT fixating on a target saved me. Clip is at 6:10.

yes, great point about keeping distance so you have room to make an avoidance maneuver.

Thank you for sharing this valuable experience. It just shows how quick the situation can change and how easy it can end in trouble. Fantastic information here and you performed a very nice and safe avoidance. Nicely done. If anything further to add, always keep good distance ahead of you as that then gives you that time needed to do your final check and move out of dangers way. Cheers again for posting this.
    Keep safe out there.

Whoa, absolute no chance of you braking behind her… and if you had, you’d have probably been impregnated by another car from behind. Really great driving and advice mate. Ride safe.

Good advice man, let me tell ya, it sucks having that happen even more on a 250cc scooter with drum brakes…LOL.

Good points you make here. I once in awhile, mostly in the spring I will go to an empty parking lot and practice maneuvers to get my skills back after a long winters break
